In the first episode of #NIMJNDOC, we expose the brutal mechanics of the SMC App scam. This coordinated attack exploited over 70,000 Nepalis, vanished with more than Rs 12 crores (120 million), and left a trail of broken lives across the country.
“We had sold our buffalo because it was infertile. With that saved money, we were planning to buy a new buffalo. We thought that if we put it in SMC, it would earn a little money, and we would not need to take another loan. Now that money is gone, and we have not bought a buffalo either.”

We went to the ground in Nepaltar, where the silence of the authorities is loud. While 11 people are behind bars, the money is gone, and the masterminds are still hidden behind a digital curtain.
