OPEN CALL: Investigative Journalism in a Digital Age | Join Our 5-Day Residential Workshop
A 5-day residential workshop equipping journalists to investigate human rights issues using digital tools and ethical reporting practices
The landscape of power has shifted. Today, corruption and inequality aren’t just found in paper trails. They are hidden within algorithmic bias, complex data infrastructures, and digital “cyber-slavery” systems that operate without oversight.
To hold this invisible power accountable, traditional reporting is no longer enough. We need to be as tech-savvy as the systems we are investigating. Whether it’s uncovering modern slavery via OSINT, tracking financial crimes through data, or amplifying marginalized voices on Reels and TikTok, our toolkit must be digital-first.
NIMJN invites you to bridge that gap. We are organizing a 5-day residential Intensive Training led by national and international experts. This is not a lecture series - it is a Production Residency. We provide the space, the mentorship, and the technical forensics; you bring the lead. Our goal is to ensure you leave with a fair amount of your investigative story already planned and produced.
📅 Dates: February 7 – 11, 2026 📍 Format: Fully Residential (Accommodation provided) 💰 Cost: Free (Competitive selection)
Key Sessions on:
Data Mastery: Advanced OSINT, data cleaning, and digital forensic security.
Tech Accountability: Investigating AI systems, algorithmic bias, and financial data.
Specialized Beats: Uncovering modern “Cyber-Slavery,” migration crises, and disaster reporting.
Inclusion & The Margins: Structural investigations into LGBTQIA+ rights, caste discrimination, and disability representation.
Narrative Power: Multimedia storytelling (Video/Audio) and strategic distribution for Reels and TikTok to ensure your work cuts through the noise.
Safety & Ethics: Physical/digital risk assessment and journalist mental wellbeing.
The Production Engine: Dedicated “Guided Story Work” blocks to finalize your investigative drafts with expert mentorship.
